12mo.; printed on blue tinted paper; ink stain on two facing contents pages obscuring a few letters; small area of adhesion on title-page affecting one letter; nineteenth-century half calf, marbled boards; rubbed; joints slightly cracked; spine label nicked. In a specially made cloth slipcase.
First Irish edition; published a year after the first edition. An eloquent analysis of the causes of the French revolution, written as an antidote to Burke's Reflections, which had appeared four years earlier.  Mary Wollstonecraft did not live to complete this major work.
