New edition, with a 30-page introduction by Mrs. Henry (Millicent Garrett Fawcett i) n anticipation of the centennial of the first publication. In this introduction, Fawcett contextualizes Wollstonecraft's work and offers textual examples of her thought. This edition also prints the 6-page introduction to the first edition. Fawcett (1847-1929) joined the first British woman suffrage committee in 1867 and emerged as its leader after the death of Lydia Becker in 1890. She was elected head of the National Union of Women's Suffrage Societies and remained there until she retired in 1919. Windle A5m.
